Tirumala Temple Closure on March 3, 2026, for Lunar Eclipse

In accordance with sacred traditions, the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala will be closed on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, due to the lunar eclipse (Chandra Grahanam).

The closure will be in effect from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM—approximately 10 hours and 30 minutes.

The eclipse itself is scheduled from 3:20 PM to 6:47 PM. As per scriptural guidelines, the temple doors will be shut six hours before the eclipse begins for purification purposes.

Schedule for the Day

  • Temple Closes: 9:00 AM
  • Eclipse Period: 3:20 PM to 6:47 PM
  • Temple Reopens: 7:30 PM (followed by special purification rituals)
  • Public Darshan Resumes: From 8:30 PM onwards

Cancellations of Sevas and Darshans

All Arjitha Sevas (paid rituals) and several special darshan channels have been cancelled for the entire day of March 3rd.
